SUSTENTAÇÃO

Sustentação is a Durational performance in dance performed by three women. Together moving through the urban space, they choose a route from the city to be covered in three choreographic movements: support, support and avenge. Sustentação arises from experiences and concerns to which female bodies are subjected in our society, structured by patriarchal, sexist and misogynistic ideals and practices. It’s an invitation to resist
to what he oppresses and to assert what he strengthens together.

They carry themselves and others. At the present step they welcome themselves with the strength of all who live in them. Through protection and support, they affirm what sustains life and avenge those of now and before, walking together in the time of not succumbing.

What gives you strength? Where do you find support? What about you want to avenge?

Sustentação is an action carried out by three women, in relation to other women and the city. Proposing displacements, possibilities for welcoming, sharing forces, other possibilities of encounters and exchanges, such as a strategy of resistance and opening of worlds.

It premiered in 2020 at the 15th February-International Theater Festival of Campinas. In 2022, via Proac SP Direct – n° 38 – Dance modality, it carried out its first circulation through the cities of Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, Santos and São Paulo. In 2023, he arrived at Campo Grande/MS, at the invitation of Sesc Cultura MS; and in Campinas/SP, was invited to join the official program of the 13th Sesc Dance Biennial.
