Coletiva Palabreria was founded in 2019 and is formed by artist-researchers Fernanda Machado and Sofia Boito. The collective emerged from the artists’ encounter within an artistic-pedagogical context, Projeto Espetáculo, at Fábrica de Cultura Brasilândia.
Since its inception, Coletiva Palabreria has focused on issues of gender from an intersectional and decolonial perspective through the investigation of hybrid artistic languages that bring together performing arts, performance, music, visual arts, and literature. Through collaborations with women artists and gender dissidents, as well as through a variety of pedagogical projects, Coletiva Palabreria has established itself as a transversal space for experimentation, exchange, and the development of artistic processes, knowledge, and sensibilities.
Among its artistic creations are the theatre production Garotas Mortas, recipient of the 13th Zé Renato Award from the São Paulo Municipal Department of Culture; the performance Todas Contam; and the urban intervention Palabreria Errante, which toured 22 cities across the state of São Paulo through the PROAC Visual Arts Touring Program. The collective also co-curated the project PELA VIDA DAS MULHERES: Gender Violence and Women’s Struggles in Brazil at Sesc 24 de Maio, a programme comprising activities developed by the collective alongside invited collaborators.
Coletiva Palabreria has led numerous artistic and educational activities, participating in programmes at Oficina Cultural Oswald de Andrade, the Sesc Research and Training Center (CPF/SESC), Sesc Itaquera, Sesc 24 de Maio, and Sesc Franca between 2021 and 2025.
