Today Soul Egg, Larva, Pupa, Butterfly…
Layers that by themselves say, translate, scream or tear through the world. CRYSÁLYDA has as poetics to narrate the world from the inside, which is also a house and abode for construction this soul that soul. So nothing is over, I repeat: nothing!

‘To my eternal beginning I want to be able to whistle my senses and fly through the beats of my drive…’

CRYSÁLYDA is a solo dance project that has as poetics the authorial work ‘CASULO’, created in the pandemic in 2021, which questions the racial identity and roots of the artist Fran Menezes.

Using the metamorphosis of the life of a butterfly, which passes through an egg, larva, pupa (crysályda) and the adult stage, the work announces the transformations of a non-binary, original, fat and peripheral trans body, a ‘world of within’ in parallel to the time it took to understand itself in this world. Dialogue with themes such as gender, resumption and paternity, an essential part of the concerns of the identity of the one who creates. The work is a poetic crossing echoing delicacies, senses and drives for being everything that is.
