OVOÉ

OvoÉ – a opereta do ovo is a theatrical production directed by Cida Almeida and created with Pronto Sorrir, celebrating ten years of the collective’s artistic journey.

Pronto Sorrir is a non-profit cultural organization whose primary mission is to promote artistic experiences in unexpected places for engaged yet underserved audiences. With more than eleven years of experience creating theatre in non-conventional spaces, the group works in pediatric hospitals, long-term care institutions for older adults, NGOs, and other contexts, having connected with more than 45,000 hospitalized children and 1,300 elderly people in situations of social vulnerability.

synopsis

On the banks of what was once a river stood the Settlement of the Miriti Roost of the Seven Birds. There, life unfolded in a monotonous routine beneath a scorching sun, with the heat cracking yolks and minds alike. It never rained, and night never came.

The birds longed for the return of the mantle of night, which once covered the vastness with cool shadows and dreaming stars. Then, mysteriously, an egg appears, bringing with it the force of something new: the ability to hope.

Warrior birds set out to bring back the heavens and the waters of the Miriti River, said to be a great serpent-canoe that visits the sky on moonlit nights.

A legend created and fabulated by many hands, minds, and hearts, this work is a journey of playful beings playing among toys and games, discovering that what remains to us is the becoming-child that inevitably projects us toward hope. At least, that is what we continue to wish for.
