TEIMA was born in 2020 in a scenario affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, a period of stoppage of cultural events, as an action to encourage the continuity of artistic production in the state of São Paulo. It emerged as a stage for artists impacted by this new reality, who continued to reinvent themselves and create an effervescent scene in an online environment.
In August 2020, the producers Ventania Cultural, Cotiara Produtora and Rima Coletivo, managed by six women artists, came together to put the initiative into practice and independently carried out the 1st edition of TEIMA, which aired 12 uninterrupted hours of Live programming totaling 21 attractions in different languages, more than 50 artists involved and audiences of different ages and locations. In the 2nd edition, in 2021, the Festival expanded its schedule to 3 consecutive days, with 5 hours of attractions per day, totaling 15 hours, which was possible thanks to the financial contribution of the Aldir Blanc Law.
