Cia. Pé do Ouvido

Cia. Pé do Ouvido was founded in 2013 by storytellers and actresses Débora Sperl and Lilia Nemes with the aim of sharing stories from the oral traditions of different cultures, alongside original narratives.

In 2021, the company began producing theatrical works with The Children of Iauaretê, the Jaguar King, created through the ProAC Award for New Performances for Children and Young Audiences. Directed by Thaís Medeiros, the production premiered online in 2021 and had its in-person premiere at Sesc Ipiranga in April 2022. The show then enjoyed a season at Sesc Bertioga and toured several Sesc venues throughout the state of São Paulo. The in-person premiere also marked the arrival of a new member to the company: actress and cultural producer Jordania Miranda.

In addition to theatrical productions and storytelling performances, Cia. Pé do Ouvido develops workshops and artistic interventions for children, young people, and adults.

Among the company’s most notable achievements over its nearly ten years of activity are three participations in Viagem Literária (Literary Journey), a statewide storytelling tour organized by the São Paulo State Public Library System; performances through the Biblioteca Viva and Recreio nas Férias programs of the São Paulo Municipal Government; a tour with BiblioSesc Santana; numerous presentations at Sesc and SESI São Paulo venues; and recorded storytelling performances for the television program Quintal da Cultura.
